Online Marketing MBA Begins With An Introduction: Carol Sue Smith

The anticipation of the learning experience that is beginning with this first blog post in Online Marketing MBA by Dee Kumar is indeed exciting. “Keep on climbing that mountain of knowledge” has always been my motto. In my opinion there is no such thing as information overload. It is just how you handle the learning process. I expect this training to be a superior opportunity to demonstrate this.

A Look at My Background

My name is Carol Smith and I live in Norman, Oklahoma. It is almost in the center of the United States but most Oklahomans consider themselves Southerners, a fact that would be demonstrated if you heard me talk. Yes, I have an accent – one that is probably as pronounced as my friends in the UK. Slow and drawn out, it takes me a long time to get it said.

I am a retired teacher having taught in high school, college and Job Corp. The last several years of my teaching career were spent teaching Microsoft Application software – Word, Excel, Access and Power Point — at the college level. However, my teaching was spread over a wide range of subjects including all business subjects, journalism, photography and offset printing. Quite a variety, isn’t it?

I left my last job because the school stopped being student oriented. They changed some policies that essentially broke some promises made to students the previous year. The main thing I am most proud of during my teaching career is that my students always knew I was there for them. This is the first step in any quality interaction between teacher and student. When this disappears, learning suffers.

I then opened my own business offering a variety of office services – accounting, tax preparation, transcription, etc.

On a strictly personal note, I was the first single woman in my state to adopt a child. My son came to live with me at the age of 6 weeks. He had been horribly neglected (he was a failure to thrive baby and weighed only 5 lb. and 3 oz.) The challenges were many but I am proud to say he has grown up to be a loving and giving young man.

My pastimes include cooking, gardening, sewing and crafts but first and foremost helping others.

My Objectives With Online Marketing MBA

The focus of these lessons will be on my cooking blog. I love to write for this niche and I have traffic. Now it is time to concentrate on turning those visitors into buying customers. I will be continuing to develop my list and improve the quality of my content. These are, of course, ongoing necessities in every successful blog.

My traffic plans include developing targeted traffic centers to serve as feeder sites to my main blog. These will be monetized with physical products, primarily from Amazon. My main site will rely on ebooks that I create.

A major part of this adventure will be to support the other members of this group. Helping others is a true passion of mine and hope that this is an excellent opportunity to do that.

My Long Range Goals

I plan to develop a feeding program for hungry children using the incredible waste of food that exists everywhere in the United States. I want to involve the rest of my family so that this can be my lasting legacy.
