Hey everyone,
My name is Paul Ciurysek and I’m thrilled to be a part of Dee’s Online Marketing MBA course. I have very high hopes and expectations coming into Dee’s program and will do my best to ensure my success and the success of all the friends I hope to make here.
I currently live in Toronto, Canada in the downtown area near the CN Tower. I’m originally from Windsor, Ontario, which is a small city right across the river from Detroit, Michigan. Although I’m a Toronto guy these days, being from the Detroit area I’m very passionate about Detroit sports – which is my first love!
My background is probably a bit different from most people who venture into the online marketing arena, as I’m a physician. I have always had a love for health, wellness, and especially helping people in any capacity I possibly could, so about half way through my medical school training I decided to write a scientific weight loss book in hopes of making some money while in school. As you might guess, there’s not much time for a part-time job while in medical school – so this was a way for me to enjoy a better quality of life.
I sat down one Friday night and planned out the entire book, having a long history of personal training and nutrition counseling under my belt I was able to write the entire book (about 150 pages), over the weekend. I was so excited and thought I’d sell a million copies. The only problem now was that I had to sell it online, something I assumed wouldn’t be too difficult because people love weight loss products.
I was wrong – dead wrong!
I quickly purchased a website and hosting and a theme, but had no clue what I was doing. I paid for traffic without even knowing the concept of a keyword or search engine results. Needless to say it was a swing and a miss.
I finished school and afterwards realized I wanted to do a few things before working 80 hours per week as a physician, mainly building a rock-solid online business that would allow me the freedom to either work part-time as a doctor or if I so choose, not at all.
I decided to actually learn the ins-and-outs of Internet Marketing, and worked tirelessly learning as much as I could. After about 6 months of non-stop studying I wrote two books for students studying for their United States board exams, each about 550 pages, created a blog, threw the books up on the sidebar, and started to blog every single day. With nothing more than blogging and creating videos for the site, the books sold quite well. I continued to grow this business and eventually created online courses as well as live courses through this company, both of which enjoyed moderate levels of success.
I now have a much different dream in mind, which is to venture into this highly competitive Internet marketing niche. My main goal is to create a comprehensive coaching course for other people like us who want to build online businesses and be able to live their lives on their own terms. As you might guess, making it in the Internet Marketing niche is much more difficult than a smaller niche, so I’m here to learn and model from someone I know has been successful.
My other goal in joining Dee’s course is to make some great new friends who are also interested in building insanely successful online businesses and becoming free of having to work a typical 9-5 job.
This year (2012), through Dee’s tutelage and with the help of all of you, I believe we can all build six-figure online businesses and truly understand what it means to be free! I will do whatever it takes and will work extremely hard to ensure 2012 is not only my year, but yours as well.
