I recently came across a really good show by Alex Riley, who somewhat comically looks seriously into the emergence of superbrands.
It is a really interesting program with some really funny moments as he is a light-hearted kind of guy.
Well worth a watch to get a very good understanding of how younger people associate with the big brands and how the brands actually evolved.
I learnt something and I’m sure you will too. I also laughed a lot throughout it too….
You can find it for free on BBC iplayer (if it does not let you watch it try searching for a ‘uk proxy; online and watching through that)
Secrets of Superbrands – Alex Riley
Particular parts to watch out for:
Why Sony is selling the PS3 at some $300 loss
What younger children thing of Nokia
The surprising answer younger Xbox fans give when asked who makes the Xbox
Why porn and the adult industry is so important to the success of PS3
What Apple has in common with religion
And the opening of an Apple store – it really is a show!
